The Beginning:

Step 1: Introduction of the host

Step 2: Deep breathing & introduction of the art form and a brief history

Step 3: Connecting the art form to mental health & one’s personal life

The Process:

Step 4: How to draw a mandala grid/map

Step 5: Understanding basic shapes

Step 6: How to use basic shapes on the grid to make a mandala

Step 7: How to incorporate special elements of personal choice

Conclusion:

Step 8: Feedback on the experience

About the workshop:

This workshop has been mindfully designed to accommodate participants of all age groups and all backgrounds. No prior knowledge of art is required and beginners are most welcome to join this session.

The workshop focuses on not just teaching people how to draw mandalas from scratch but also how to find a sense of calmness in the process of exploring their creative potential. The idea is to introduce participants to a space within, where mental and emotional well-being meets art and free flowing expression. This allows people to slow down and feel more grounded while enjoying the act of bringing their thoughts from the intangible world to the tangible, on a sheet of paper.

About the host:

Gargi Sinha is a self taught visual artist from Vadodara. While she specializes in making mandalas, she also practices making other forms of art. She has been selling her work for about 5 years now. Her mandalas have not just traveled to different parts of India but also to places like Dubai, America, Romania, France, etc.

She has hosted more than 50 workshops in both, her individual capacity and for organizations like Baroda Citizens Council, Our Vadodara, MSU Social Work Faculty, Thompson and Reuters, etc.
